Good Saturday morning!

(More to come, I think!)

(Oops. I was wrong. Hope you're having a great day!)

This post is going to be a daylong ramble. I have the day off, and tomorrow off, and I'm just chilling. So in between doing some chores, I'll keep coming back here. Rambling away.

This year marks my 28th year at work. Twenty-eight years. We've had four different owners in that period, so things haven't been static, but if anyone had told me in 1978, when I took this job (as a temporary, no less) that I'd be here twenty-eight years later I wouldn't have believed it.

I'm needing a good long rest. I need six months off. However, I'm a poor working stiff, so that's not possible. *sigh* Retirement at 62 is the goal. And wow. That's looking closer all the time: eight years.

Oh cool! It's S*H*I*T day! Karen reminds us, and Susan coined the term.

Well goodness. Took me longer than I thought to get back.

I love living in the country. Went outside at 10 a.m. or so, took more hummingbird pics. Was folding laundry at 12:30, saw a deer walking across the field across the road. Went out onto the porch to watch. A Monarch floated down the roadway. A nuthatch was on the suet. The woodpecker was working in his tree to the southwest of the porch. The cats joined me for some cuddling.

Life is good.

Of course, country life has had its downside also. There was the case of poison ivy I got (along with two nephews and one brother). It was BAD! It was so bad that I didn't take pictures of my ankles, because I was afraid it would scare people. There's the woodchuck that is trying to make a home under my back porch. We're trying to trap him, but no luck so far. (Okay, Sherle, I've learned my Lesson *smile*) And don't get me started on the number of painting and glass fixing projects I have facing me.

But it is all good. Really Really Good.

The JonBenet Ramsey case: John Ramsey grew up here in mid-Michigan, and recently ran for office in one of the upNorth counties. (He lost.) I hope this arrest will bring closure and peace to the remaining family members. So sad.
